In 2008, the IAMO Forum for the first time provided a "Best Paper Award” for a paper and a poster designated as the most outstanding of the contributions presented at the conference.

The winners have been chosen by the Organising Team in two evaluation stages. First, all submitted papers had been reviewed according to screening criteria, such as the relevance of the research topic considered, overall scientific performance, methodological quality, consistency of argumentation, and originality. In the second stage we judged the oral and poster presentations.

Paper Award Winners are
Johan F.M. Swinnen, Thijs Vandemoortele
(University of Leuven, Belgium)
for the contributed paper:
The political economy of nutrition and health standards in food markets

Poster Award Winner is
Tamßs Mizik
(Corvinius University of Budapest, Hungary)
